I’m really pleased to announce the launch of our fully revamped website for Grace Church. Please have a look around and tell us what you think. You might even spot yourself!

As we approached this redesign, we started with a totally new concept for how a website for a multisite church like ours should work. Here is some of our thinking behind it.

  1. The aim is to give a flavour of the church to someone looking in. We want the website to give newcomers a good idea of who we are, what we are like and what is important to us.
  2. There is less content than the old website and that is deliberate. The old one attempted to be an ‘encyclopaedia’ of all things Grace Church, which resulted in something rather unwieldy. Now not everything is mentioned or described. Don’t worry too much if there are ‘gaps’!
  3. The site is designed to be focussed on your chosen Grace Church site. Therefore, in contrast to the old website, there is no ‘central information’ vs ’site-based information’. Rather, everything is now ‘my church information’. Moving between sites is possible from any page though. Just click on the red circles!
  4. It is great to see that more and more people are signing up to ChurchSuite. This is how we manage all the groups, diaries, rotas and contact lists that make up the life of the church. The new website is designed to integrate more closely with ChurchSuite. From any page you can go to MyChurchSuite by clicking on the link in the footer. It also means that you can go to our website to see what key events are coming up soon.

Anyway, even a good website is a bit like a pair of socks: you can pull them around for a while, but in the end, you just have to change them! Hopefully, there are not too many holes in this one and it will keep us fresh and relevant for a few years to come.
